Children

When our children struggle we struggle. We can feel at a loss about how to best support them. One aspect of being a child is their ability to absorb the world around them. They are sponges to their environments.

This can be a strength and a weakness, depending on the world they inhabit and the way in which they are engaging with it. Children are great perceivers, but often don’t have the vocabulary or emotional mastery to express what’s happening to them internally. This can lead to overwhelming emotions, challenges with regulation, and struggles with self-confidence. I create a trusting environment for your child to feel safe to explore what’s getting in their way to becoming more at home in the world. It takes a village to raise a child. I often partner with parents when working with children, allowing us to be aligned with the same goals to best support them in their growth and wellbeing.

I’ve always loved working with children. They help me see the world with fresh eyes. I feel we are shaped by them as much, if not more, than they are shaped by us. I particularly love their deep sense of curiosity and wonderment about the world, as well as their ability to withhold judgment and forgive. I feel that at the core of our human experience is the need to be seen and valued and believe this may be the most important gift we can give children.
